Halfway| Chapter 2

    Maya stared at her hand in shock. Where's the cut? She looked up again at Edward. Wait... would this mean I'm.. Ed sighed. "I'd say you're a.. a homonculous," he forced. "But it takes a while for a homonculous to really be alive, and wouldn't your arm have healed?" Maya shivered. "That's what's confusing me," she said. "Maybe... maybe we did it only halfway right? Maybe you're part homonculous?"

"But only halfway," Maya corrected.
"Does this mean you won't age or whatever?" Winry asked. Maya shook her head. "I don't know... But obviously, I heal instantly," she decided. Edward nodded. "Are you still feeling weak?" 

"No way, I'm great! Why don't we kind of forget the homonculous thing for now?" she answered. Ed sighed. "Not sure if I can, but I could use a little fun. What do you say, Al?" He looked up at his brother. "If you guys say so," Al laughed. "Great, a little sparring match!" Maya cheered as they made their way to the door. Winry laughed, shaking her head.

Maya's POV

Are these two tougher than i remember? I think as I spin in the air, kicking Ed's head. It's one on one on one, every alchemist for himself. I have to lean far backwards to dodge a punch from Edward's right arm before Alphonse catches the aforementioned shorty in the stomach. Stumbling, I hit the ground, but soon it acts in my favor as I swing my leg out, knocking Ed over before kicking to my feet. I put my foot victoriously on the boy's chest, pinning him down though he could easily stand. "Looks like I win," I announce. "You haven't beat.." Ed's cut off as I'm flipped over by a metal hand. "Al yet," Edward finishes with a laugh. 

"I win again, brother," Al says to Ed as he helps us up. I roll my eyes. "You can't get tired." Alphonse shrugs. "Good point, but a win is a win." 

"And a Winry is a Winry, who's supposed to call you guys in! Hurry up!"
I giggle as Ed narrowly dodges a wrench aimed at his head. He glares up at her. "All right, all right!" he calls. He soon turns to me with an evil grin. "Race ya."

Naturally, Edward wins. I half-way collapse, holding myself up by my knees, as we reach the porch at the top of the hill. "Not fair, you've got automail," I pant. And then with a smirk, I add, "You're smaller, so you're more lightweight!"

I get the wanted affect. "WHO ARE YOU CALLING SMALLER THAN A BIRD'S TINY WING FEATHERS AND SO LIGHT HE COULD JUST FLOAT ON AIR WITH NO PROBLEM?!" he screams. "Besides, I'm two inches taller than you!"

"Doesn't mean you're not a shrimp."

"Maya!"

I laugh. "Let's go. Pinako has food ready." At this, Ed licks his lips. "Food!"

3rd person

"I won't drink it," Ed growled through clenched teeth. Maya also gave a determined nod. Winry sighed angrily. "If you guys don't drink it, you'll never get taller!" Alphonse put in. Maya shook her head. "Why would I want to drink something secreted from a cow??" This time Ed nodded.

"Gah, you guys are a bunch of hopeless midgets!"

"Who are you callin' so short they could get soaked in the ink on the tip of a pen but couldn't get washed cause they'd get lost in the water?!" Maya and Edward screamed in unison. At this, Winry slapped her hand on her face. "Hopeless."

Later, Ed sighed with relief as Winry and Al gave up on the milk subject. "Remember when you liked milk?" he reminded her. Maya laughed. "Yeah. Back then I always drank milk. That day we were playing with Winry and Al, and I brought out a few glasses 'cause I forgot you didn't like it. And while I sat there drinking that opaque white liquid, you explained why it was so disgusting."

"And you spit it all out right in my face!" Edward laughed. "Did I now? Hm. Must've forgot that part," Maya smirked. Ed rolled his eyes. "It was gross. And you never drank milk again after that," he added, smirking himself. Maya rolled her own eyes. "Your persuasive powers are incredible." There was then a call from a different room. "Are you sure you guys don't want any milk?"

"No!"

"So you're not sure?"

"We're not drinking any milk!"
